Swatch (“the extension”) is a browser extension that lets you pick colors from the screen, view them in common formats, and manage a personal color palette. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data. In short: the extension collects nothing, transmits nothing, and tracks nothing.
None. Swatch does not collect, store on any server, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, or the colors you pick. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
The eyedropper uses your browser’s built-in EyeDropper API. When you activate it,
the browser returns the color of the pixel you click. This happens locally inside your browser;
the color value is shown to you and is never sent anywhere.
The optional “Extract page colors” action reads the colors used on the page in your active tab, only when you explicitly click it. The colors are processed locally and shown to you. No page content is stored or transmitted.
The extension stores your theme choice (light or dark) and the colors you save to your palette
using the browser’s local storage API. This data stays on your device and is not
associated with any identity or sent to us.
storage — to remember your theme choice and saved palette locally.activeTab — used only for the “Extract page colors” action, on your explicit click, to read colors from the tab you are viewing.scripting — to run the small color-extraction routine in the active tab, only when you click “Extract”.Swatch requests no broad host access (<all_urls>) and no access to your
browsing across sites.
Swatch does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect any data to share. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries.
The extension is a technical tool intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised. Material changes will be reflected in the extension’s store listing.
